Characterized by extensive desert landscapes, the Middle East employs remote sensing satellites to monitor desertification and land degradation trends, generating scientific data critical for environmental governance and sustainable development initiatives. According to reports by the International Space Data Services Organization (ISDSO), the region incurs annual economic losses amounting to billions of dollars due to desertification. The application of remote sensing satellite technology holds significant promise in mitigating these financial impacts across the region.
